Therapeutic Approaches
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a structured, evidence-based therapy that supports individuals in identifying and modifying unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour. It is commonly used to address concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, and related difficulties.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is an evidence-based treatment that may support individuals in processing distressing or traumatic memories. The therapy uses guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation to assist with emotional regulation and memory integration.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT combines mindfulness techniques with behavioural strategies to support individuals in building psychological flexibility. It may be helpful for people managing chronic stress, pain, anxiety, or depression.
Schema Therapy
Schema Therapy integrates elements of cognitive, attachment, and psychodynamic theory to help individuals recognise and change deeply ingrained patterns (schemas) that may impact their relationships or emotional wellbeing.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing is a client-centred therapeutic style aimed at enhancing motivation for change. It is often applied in areas such as substance use, health behaviour change, or lifestyle-related challenges.
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
IPT is a structured and time-limited therapy that focuses on improving interpersonal relationships and communication patterns. It is often used in the treatment of depression and related mood disorders.
Psychological Assessments
WAIS-IV (Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale – Fourth Edition)
The WAIS-IV is a standardised assessment tool used to evaluate adult cognitive functioning. It can provide useful information for vocational planning, learning support, and diagnostic clarification.
PAI (Personality Assessment Inventory)
The PAI is a self-report questionnaire designed to assess a range of personality traits and clinical characteristics. It is commonly used to inform treatment planning or clinical decision-making.
PCL-5 (Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Checklist for DSM-5)
The PCL-5 is a validated screening tool used to assess the presence and severity of symptoms related to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It can support ongoing clinical monitoring and care planning.
